Elevator Rescue App
Last Updated: September 15, 2026
Effective: September 15, 2026
This policy describes Elevator Rescue App version 2.2.0 and related subscription, admin, and backend services operated at https://rescue-app.tuzzco.net/.
1. Introduction
Elevator Rescue / Tuzzco ("we," "our," or "us") provides a professional field reference app for elevator technicians and rescue personnel, plus subscription checkout and account tools on our website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, where it is stored, and how you can contact us about it.
We aim to collect only what is needed to authenticate access, manage seats on a subscription, deliver content, send service messages, and operate billing.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you use the app or subscription services:
Account and subscription information
- Email address (account identity, device linking codes, subscription confirmations, and support)
- Name provided at checkout
- Organization / fire department (or similar workplace affiliation) provided at checkout
- Subscription status and billing period dates
- Stripe customer and subscription identifiers
- Optional promo or discount codes you enter at checkout
- Payment card and billing details are collected and processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers
Device and seat information
- App-generated device identifier (persisted in the device Secure Store / Keychain or Keystore, with a local mirror) used to link devices to a subscription (up to 3 devices per account)
- Device nickname you assign for device management
- Timestamps such as when a device was added or last marked active
- Account flags needed for access control (for example active, canceled-but-still-in-period, removed, or admin-disabled)
Announcements and device inbox
- Per-device inbox flags in our backend (such as pending state, revision, latest announcement id, and priority) so the app can show service messages
- Admin may target announcements or a kill-switch message to all devices or to specific device identifiers
- On-device records of which announcements you have already dismissed (stored locally)
Partner offers (when enabled)
- The app may fetch publicly readable offer metadata (title, subtitle, link, image URL, schedule) from our backend when offers are active
- Viewing the in-app offer list does not require sending your email; tapping an offer opens its HTTPS link in your system browser, which may be operated by a third party with its own privacy policy
Information stored only on your device
- Downloaded training videos and related offline files
- Local caches (for example images and performance caches)
- Favorites and recently viewed items
- Local preference / dismiss state for announcements
What we do not operate today
- We do not use a third-party product analytics SDK (for example Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, or Mixpanel) in the current app
- We do not use a dedicated crash-reporting SDK (for example Crashlytics or Sentry) in the current app
- We do not upload your in-app search queries or a video-view history to our servers for advertising or analytics
App version may be shown in the app for your reference and for support conversations you initiate. Standard server and platform logs (for example web or API request logs) may incidentally include IP address, user agent, and similar technical metadata when you use our website or APIs.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Provide and maintain the app, content library, and subscription access
- Process payments and manage billing through Stripe
- Link and manage devices on a subscription (seat limits, nicknames, remove/re-link)
- Send transactional email such as one-time device-link codes and subscription-related notices
- Authenticate access to protected content (including Firebase-backed storage and account checks)
- Deliver in-app announcements and, when necessary, kill-switch / unlock messaging for specific devices
- Show partner offers when that feature is active
- Provide customer support and respond to account or billing requests
- Prevent abuse (for example rate-limiting verification codes) and protect the security of accounts and content
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
4. Where Information Is Stored
- Firebase (Google): Authentication-related tokens where used, Firestore documents for users/subscriptions/devices, announcement content, per-device inbox flags, partner offers (when configured), and Firebase Storage for media such as reference images; project associated with Elevator Rescue App
- Stripe: Customer, subscription, and payment processing records
- Our Synology-hosted servers (rescue-app.tuzzco.net): Marketing site, admin tools, subscription website endpoints (checkout, webhooks, device-link email), and hosted training media as applicable
- Your device: Secure Store / Keychain or Keystore device ID, AsyncStorage preferences, favorites/recents, announcement dismiss state, and offline downloads
- Email delivery: Transactional messages sent via SMTP using Gmail infrastructure (from addresses such as noreply@tuzzco.net for automated mail)
Data in transit to our services is protected with HTTPS/TLS. Payment card data is handled by Stripe under their PCI-compliant processes.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on these service providers to operate Elevator Rescue:
Stripe (payments and subscriptions)
- Checkout, customer portal, webhooks, and payment processing
- Privacy Policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
Firebase / Google
- Firestore, Storage, and related backend services used for accounts, content, announcements, and offers
- Privacy Policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Apple App Store and Google Play
- App distribution and platform update delivery; those stores process information under their own policies when you download or update the app
Email (SMTP / Gmail infrastructure)
- Transactional email for device linking and subscription-related messages
Partner offer destinations
- If you open an offer link, the destination site may collect data under that partner's privacy policy
6. Offline Downloads and Local Storage
You may download training clips for offline use. Those files remain on your device until you remove them or clear app storage. Favorites, recents, and announcement dismiss state are also stored locally and are not used as a cloud watch-history product. If you grant photo-library permissions on your device, that access is only for features that save or manage media you choose-not to browse your personal photo library for marketing.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the service:

- Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
- Protection of rights: To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, our service, or others
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality
8. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. You can also:
- Add or remove devices from your subscription in the app (Settings → Manage Devices), subject to the seat limit

- Local device data: Remains on the device until you clear it or uninstall the app (Secure Store values may persist across reinstall on some platforms)
11. Cookies and Tracking
The mobile app does not use browser cookies. Our subscription and marketing website may use essential cookies or similar storage needed for checkout sessions and basic site operation. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on these pages.
12. International Data Transfers
Our servers and service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. If you use the app from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations, which may have different data-protection rules than your home country.
13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of the sale of personal information, and to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact tuzzco.llc@gmail.com.
14. European Privacy Rights
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or another region with similar laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We may update this Privacy Policy when our product or practices change. We will post the updated policy at https://rescue-app.tuzzco.net/privacy.html (and the store-listing mirror URL where used) and revise the "Last Updated" date.
